It is Council policy that all grounds remain open during the summer (unless there are exceptional circumstances), with the exception of Turf Wickets (generally only used by A Grade).
The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai & Hills District Cricket Association maintain a webpage to keep players updated in regards to ground closures.
Please check the website before you phone your captain.
In all circumstances, the captain will attempt to contact you if the game is called off.
If the website does not indicate that the ground is closed, you are expected to turn up. Calling the captain on Saturday morning and indicating you will not turn up because you saw a bit of rain on the front yard is not an acceptable excuse!
